What types of activities can my donation support?

You can support extracurricular programs such as sports, music, student field trips, or our character education program.
Is it easy to donate to Prescott Valley Charter School and get a state tax credit?

Yes. Choose the program of your preference, fill out the donation form for any amount up to $400 if you are married filing jointly or $200 if you are filing single. Complete the form online and a receipt will be emailed to you for tax purposes.
How much can I donate each year?

Up to $400 can be contributed per married couple filing jointly. If you are filing married/separate, you each can claim ½ the donation per year. Single or widowed people can claim $200.
Is this really a dollar-for-dollar tax credit?

Yes, your donation reduces your state tax liability directly.

Example: AZ State Tax Liability: $300

Donation to PVCS: $250

New Tax Balance: $50

If you already paid $300 in taxes → $250 refund
What if I don’t owe state taxes this year?

You can carry forward unused credit for up to five years.
Can I also claim a federal tax deduction?

In many cases, yes, but consult your tax advisor to be sure.
Will I get a refund for my donation?

Only if your donation reduces your state tax liability below what you’ve already paid. You cannot receive more than your total tax liability.
Do I need to have a child enrolled to donate?

No, anyone can contribute and claim the credit, whether or not they have a school-age child.
Can I donate more than once in a year?

Yes, you can make multiple contributions throughout the year. Be sure to submit a form each time.
