My name is Jeana Simmons and I am excited to be able to return to working with students at PVS this year. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counseling. I have also worked as a licensed substance abuse therapist, and I am currently working on a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. As a school counselor, I have assisted students in developing their ECAP (Education Career Action Plan) to help them in determining what career they would most enjoy and what classes to take, to prepare them for career success. I was the first school counselor in Arizona to implement a school-based neurofeedback program, and I published my thesis research on school-based neurofeedback. Additionally, I have organized various small counseling groups to help students to address social emotional needs. As needed, I am able to meet individually with students. I have greatly enjoyed working with our students and helping them to succeed. My focus with students is to help them in the areas of academic, personal/social, and career development. I look forward to meeting new students and continuing to assist returning students at PVS.
